Sustainable management

Neoenergia continues to focus on the energy transition through the decarbonization of the economy. Today, the execution of projects with renewable sources is a reality with the construction of wind and solar farms, which expand the generation of clean energy in the country. Committed to the sustainable development of the Brazilian regions where it operates, the company maintains responsible practices of ASG (acronym for environmental, social and governance), adding value to society, shareholders and all stakeholders.

In addition, it acts to improve gender equity among its employees and, for this reason, signed the declaration of support for the Principles of Women's Empowerment (WEPs), an initiative promoted by UN Women and the Global Compact. By 2030, it intends to expand the presence of women in leadership positions and activities related to the operation.

Keeping an eye on the future

By the end of 2022, the company will have more than 90% of its installed capacity in renewable sources, and remains attentive to new opportunities, including innovative technologies such as offshore wind and green hydrogen. Through the commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN), it aims to reduce the intensity of CO² emissions by up to 50% by 2030, having as its base year 2007.

The growth strategy is also aligned with the need to anticipate the demands of the future. The modernization and change in the profile of customers in the electricity sector have accelerated the transformations, efficiency gains and development of new products and services. These are changes in the market that require companies' actions to adapt to the new business model. Therefore, Neoenergia invests in innovation and technology, prioritizing quality, expansion, digitization of networks and consumer experiences. Faced with the imminent liberalization of the market, the company adopted actions that reinforce the commitment to ensure the supply of clean, affordable and quality energy to Brazilians.

Business resilience

The solid results recorded over these 25 years show that Neoenergia's strategy is in line with Iberdrola, one of the world's leading groups of electricity. All business consistency is built on the organic expansion of distributors, the pipeline of renewable enterprises, transmission lines that guarantee the supply of clean energy in an integrated way to the country and, mainly, financial efficiency.
