Marcelo Correa will leave the CEO post at Neoenergia SA at the end of next week, as he opted not to renew his contract with the company. As of September 1, Correa will be temporarily replaced by Solange Ribeiro, current director of regulation at the company. Solange was appointed by Banco do Brasil, its pension fund Previ and Spanish utility Iberdrola, and will be governing the company until the completion of the process of selecting a new CEO.

Solange has already held leadership positions in other local power sector companies such as Chesf and Eletropaulo, both subsidiaries of federal energy holding company Eletrobras.
