(Update on Previous Disclosure) Notice Regarding Recording of Extraordinary Loss Due to Fire at

a Contract Logistics Center of a Consolidated Subsidiary

Nihon Chouzai Co., Ltd. announces that it recorded the following extraordinary loss for the third quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2022.

1. Recording of extraordinary loss

In the November 29, 2021 "Notice Concerning Fire at a Contract Logistics Center of a Consolidated Subsidiary," the Company announced that there was a fire at a logistics center of Hitachi Transport System West Japan Co., Ltd., to which the Company's consolidated subsidiary Nihon Generic Co., Ltd. outsources warehousing operations for its products. Having ascertained the extent of damage to products due to the fire in the third quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2022, the Company recorded an extraordinary loss of 3.91 billion yen as a "loss on disaster."

2. Impact on financial results

The above-mentioned extraordinary loss is reflected in the "Summary of Consolidated Financial Results for the Third Quarter of the Fiscal Year Ending March 31, 2022" announced today.

All of the products damaged by the fire were covered by insurance, and the Company expects to record insurance claim income by the end of the current fiscal year. The insurance company is in the process of finalizing the insurance claim amount, but we will promptly make an announcement should matters requiring disclosure arise.
