Nippon Coke & Engineering Company, Limited reported consolidated earnings results for the six months ended September 30, 2019. For the period, the company reported net sales of JPY 56,130 million compared to JPY 58,591 million a year ago. Operating loss was JPY 23 million compared to income of JPY 2,781 million a year ago. Net loss attributable to owners of the parent was JPY 628 million compared to income of JPY 1,252 million a year ago. Net loss per share was JPY 2.16 compared to income of JPY 4.24 a year ago.
The company provided consolidated earnings guidance for the year ending March 31, 2020. For the year, the company expects net sales of JPY 112,000 million and operating income expected of JPY 2,300 million.
NIPPON COKE & ENGINEERING COMPANY, LIMITED is principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of coke, general coal and powder and granular equipment, as well as the call center business. The Company operates in three business segments. The Coke segment manufactures and sells coke. The Fuel Sales segment is engaged in purchasing and sale of coal and petroleum coke, and call center business. The Comprehensive Engineering segment is engaged in manufacture, sale and maintenance of chemical equipment and other equipment, as well as collecting, transportation and processing of industrial waste. The others business includes cargo handling business, real estate sales and leasing business.
