Nippon Kayaku Co., Ltd. reported consolidated and non-consolidated earnings results for year ended March 31, 2021. For the period, on consolidated basis, the company reported net sales of JPY 173,381 million against JPY 175,123 million a year ago. Operating income was JPY 15,194 million against JPY 17,485 million a year ago. Profit was JPY 12,590 million against JPY 12,879 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of parent per share-primary was JPY 73.62 against JPY 74.25 a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of parent per share-diluted was JPY 73.61 against JPY 74.23 a year ago.
For the period, on non- consolidated basis, the company reported net sales of JPY 115,618 million against JPY 106,608 million a year ago. Operating income was JPY 9,436 million against JPY 9,075 million a year ago. Net income was JPY 22,610 million against JPY 10,703 million a year ago. Net income per share was JPY 132.38 against JPY 62.01 a year ago.
NIPPON KAYAKU CO., LTD. is primarily engaged in the manufacture and sale of functional chemical products. The Company has three business segments. The Functional Chemical segment manufactures and sells functional materials, such as epoxy resin, ultraviolet curable resin and high-performance chemicals; pigment materials, including functional dyes, pigment for inkjet printers and others; catalysts, such as catalysts for acrylic and methacrylic acid manufacturing, as well as coloring materials, such as dyes and special coloring materials for nonfibrous products, among others. The Pharmaceutical segment supplies pharmaceutical products, medical intermediates and diagnostic medicines, among others. The Safety Systems segment provides inflators for airbags and micro gas generators for seatbelt pretensioners. The Company is also engaged in the manufacture and sale of agricultural chemicals.
