Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. (TSE:9031) agreed to acquire 90% stake in GCS Logistics Ltd. on April 10, 2018. As a result of acquisition, GCS Logistics Ltd. will be renamed as NNR Global Logistics New Zealand Ltd which will start operating as unit of Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. from May 1, 2018. Staples Rodway acted as accountant in this transaction.
Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based transportation company. The Company operates in five business segments. The Transportation segment operates railroad, bus, taxi and other transportation-related business. The Real Estate segment is engaged in the leasing and allotment sale of real estate properties, as well as other real estate-related businesses. The Distribution segment is involved in the storage business. The Logistics segment is involved in the international and domestic logistics business. The Leisure and Service segment is involved in the hotel, leisure, travel, restaurant, advertising agency and other business. The Company is also engaged in the integrated circuit (IC) card, automobile maintenance-related, construction and metal recycle business.
