TOKYO, September 29, 2014 -- Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. (NRI), a leading provider of consulting services and system solutions, today announced its ranking at number nine on the IDC Financial Insights 2014 FinTech Rankings, an annual international listing of the top vertical technology vendors that derive more than one third of their revenue from this industry as named by IDC Financial Insights. This ranking marks the fifth consecutive year that NRI has been ranked a top 10 global financial technology firm by IDC Financial Insights research.

"Our recognition as a leading financial technology provider for a fifth consecutive year is a direct result of NRI's continued focus on providing solutions and services that address a rapidly evolving market landscape," said Yasuki Okai, Financial Technology Solution Division Manager at NRI. "As our clients' business models and operations are adapting to a changing regulatory and reporting landscape, both in Japan and on a global scale, we remain committed to working with these firms to ensure we are delivering innovative, best-in-class solutions they can rely upon."

Over the past year, in order to address new regulatory and reporting standards, NRI announced two new solutions designed to meet these requirements. The firm launched T-STAR/ReportAssist/EDINET to allow investment managers the ability to submit reports in line with new XBRL requirements, and established NRI Financial Graphics, Ltd., a joint venture between NRI Process Innovation and Nikkei Printing Holdings Inc., which provides investment managers with a high quality, one stop service for outsourcing operations from designing, production, printing and delivery. NRI also built upon its industry-leading cloud services through the launch of T-MONOLIX ARENA Private Cloud Service, the only available cloud solution for asset managers in Japan and designed to host all IT applications and tailored to the specific investment vehicles these firms own.
