Norfolk Southern recently joined South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, President and CEO of the South Carolina Ports Authority Barbara Melvin, and other public sector partners to celebrate the expansion of Inland Port Greer. This expansion has no shelf life in terms of the positive impact it will have.

It is a generational project, helping remove over 150 thousand trucks from the interstate annually and avoid over 30 million highway miles on taxpayer-funded roadways. Further, this partnership is helping eliminate the use of 5 million diesel gallons and 50 thousand metric tons of emissions.

Norfolk Southern is continuing to invest in South Carolina's rail infrastructure to help achieve our own sustainability and growth goals and create even more certainty for our customers. Expanding the rail capacity at Inland Port Greer will help us serve the Navy Base Intermodal Facility and enhance fluidity throughout the Southeast. This project is perfectly aligned with our mission to be a customer-centric, operations-driven transportation network.
