Investing of UMI Ⅲ Investment Limited Partnership

OJI Holdings Corporation (President: Hiroyuki Isono; Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) announces to invest UMI Ⅲ Investment Limited Partnership (hereinafter "UMI Ⅲ Fund") established by Universal Materials Incubator Co., Ltd. (President: Shosuke Kiba; Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "UMI") on October 7, 2022. Our committed investment for UMI Ⅲ Fund ammounts to 500 million yen.

UMI Ⅲ Fund aims to establish a new business creation platform in the material and chemical industries that focus on prominent technologies and new businesses of ventures, academia, and large corporations and that provide active support for business creation, following "UMI Ⅰ Fund" and "UMI Ⅱ Fund".

With the 150th anniversary of founding marked on February 12, 2023, we have been working on a business structural transformation to develop new materials and products from wood resources and evolve our business.

With this investment, we aim to promote the open innovation in collaboration with start-ups utilizing the new business creation platform that the Fund aims to convert the business structure.

The Oji Group steps up its efforts in addressing global warming and environmental issues by nurturing and managing our forests sustainably and creating products that utilize them for the benefit of society.

electronics and information, and mobility utilizing a

competitive edge in material and chemical technologies as

well as common basic technologies for the development of

the material and chemical fields.
