PGE and Danish renewable developer Orsted have signed an agreement with GE Vernova - represented in Poland by GE Power - and Polimex Mostostal, which will build the onshore infrastructure for Baltica 2 offshore wind project. The remuneration for the contract amounts to EUR 514.2 million net. As PGE's CEO pointed out, Baltica 2 offshore wind farm will provide energy for Pomerania, which is currently largely supplied from southern Poland.

The land connection infrastructure for the Baltica 2 project will be built in Pomerania near the village of Osieki Leborskie in Choczewo municipality, in the Wejherowo county. Construction work will begin later in 2024. Testing and commissioning of the onshore substation is planned for 2026 and 2027.

Baltica 2 is one of two - alongside Baltica 3 - phases of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm. PGE and Orsted plan to complete the Baltica 2 stage with a capacity of approximately 1.5 GW by the end of 2027, and the Baltica 3 stage with a capacity of approximately 1 GW by 2030.
