PACC Offshore Services Holdings Ltd. (POSH or the Group), has commenced support for the Petronas Floating Liquefied Natural Gas 2 (PFLNG Dua) after securing two towage and positioning contracts that involve the deployment of four POSH vessels. The PFLNG Dua is Petronas second FLNG unit with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of LNG, and the worlds first FLNG vessel to operate in deep water. The first contract sees two POSH 16,300 BHP vessels undertaking a tow of the PFLNG Dua from Geoje, South Korea, where it had been built, to the Rotan Gas Field in offshore Sabah, Malaysia, where it will be deployed. An additional third 16,000 BHP vessel will also be escorting the PFLNG Dua en route. As part of the second offshore services contract, a fourth 16,000 BHP C-class vessel will be deployed to join the convoy, where it will provide station-keeping services for the PFLNG Dua. Both charters are expected to complete in early April. POSH is also overseeing the overall project management for the transportation and station-positioning leg of the project. The contracts are undertaken by POSHs newly launched Offshore Projects division, comprising a fleet of eight versatile and high-specification vessels including the 21,456 BHP Anchor Handling Tug vessel (AHT) POSH Teal with Dynamic Positioning (DP2) system.
