PACIFIC ENERGY RECEIVES NOTICE OF AWARD FOR 11MW POWER STATION FOR ALTURA MINING LTD Highlights
  • Pacific Energy has received a Notice of Intention to Award a contract to build, own and operate an 11MW Power Station at Altura's Pilgangoora Lithium Project

Power generation specialist Pacific Energy Limited ('Pacific Energy') is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kalgoorlie Power Systems ('KPS'), has been notified that it is the successful tenderer for an electricity supply contract with Altura Mining Limited ('Altura', ASX:AJM). The formal contract is expected to be executed within one week.

KPS will build, own and operate an 11MW power station at Altura's Pilgangoora Lithium Project, located 120km inland from Port Hedland in Western Australia. The power station will incorporate diesel generators which are capable of being converted to dual fuel at any time to access potentially cheaper and cleaner gas fuel for Altura in the future. The contract, which will have a commencement date of 1 December 2017, has an initial 5 year term with options to extend.

Pacific Energy's Managing Director, Jamie Cullen said:

Mr Cullen added that the new capacity on the Pilgangoora project together with several recent expansions totalling 11MW for existing customers has seen Group contracted capacity exceed 278MW.
