VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Pan American Silver Corp. (PAAS) on Tuesday reported second-quarter net income of $71.2 million.

The Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had net income of 34 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 22 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 33 cents per share.

The silver mining company posted revenue of $382.1 million in the period.

Pan American Silver shares have decreased 27% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $25.23, a fall of 30% in the last 12 months.
