(Alliance News) - Panther Metals PLC on Wednesday said it has won an exploration permit for drilling at the Manitou Lakes project in Ontario, Canada.

Panther Metals is a Canada and Australia-focused mineral exploration company.

The permit, which is valid through to April 2026, covers the Barker prospect on the West Limb area of the project and allows for ground and down-hole geophysics, bedrock stripping and up to 23 drill holes over an area encompassing seven mining claims.

The Barker prospect comprises a 700 metres long, currently open-ended, north-west trending shear structure hosted, gold in soil geochemical anomaly located 200m north of the historical Barker Brothers mine, Panther said.

"Panther continues to strategically develop and build the business on all levels and our high-quality asset base continues to gain recognition from across the industry, especially in Canada," said Chief Executive Officer Darren Hazelwood.

"Manitou Lakes has the potential to return significant uplift for Panther and the long three-year term of this permit provides the company with the ideal window to deliver on this potential."

Shares in Panther Metals were up 1.5% to 3.30 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon.
