Philip Wiser, former global tech chief at Hearst Corp., is joining CBS Corp. as chief technology officer. Wiser will report to CBS COO Joe Ianniello and Jim Lanzone, CBS chief digital officer and president and CEO of CBS Interactive Inc. Wiser will formally assume his new role at CBS on Sept. 4. He will be based in New York. Wiser replaces Douglas Rousso, who recently left the company after seven years as tech chief to join Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. Prior to his role at Hearst, Wiser was also chief technology officer for Sony Corp.'s Sony Corp. of America from 2004 to 2006, after which he became co-founder and chairman of Sezmi Corp.
