SeeHawk™ Monitor to Support Douglas County, Colorado's Public Safety Radio Network

May 14, 2024

Castle Rock Microwave has announced that it is leading Douglas County, Colorado's deployment of PCTEL's SeeHawk™Monitor spectrum monitoring and uplink testing system. SeeHawk Monitor will support the county's P25 Public Safety Radio Network as well as local coverage on the state's interoperable Digital Trunked Radio System.

To prepare for the launch, PCTEL provided 2-day on-site training for Douglas County radio technicians and members of the Castle Rock support team to:

  • Detect interference and analyze spectrum events through record and playback functions
  • Monitor the noise floor & RF spectrum with real-time spectrum analysis
  • Support commissioning of non-interfering in-building Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems (ERCES)
  • Enhance in-building and outdoor RF coverage surveys with automated uplink testing

Once the new system is commissioned, it will help ensure reliable communications coverage for hundreds of Emergency and First Responders from 20 Public Safety Agencies across the county.
