Power-One, Inc. (NASDAQ:PWER) today announced that in rulings issued on July 30, 2007, the Court ruled against Artesyn Technologies, Inc. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Emerson Electric Co.) on all motions seeking summary judgment, and ruled that the case will proceed to a jury trial. In recent court proceedings, Artesyn had sought to secure dismissal of the pending patent infringement allegations brought against it by Power-One.

In motions recently filed by Power-One, Power-One is seeking to add Emerson Electric Co. and Astec America, Inc. as named defendants. Power-One also filed motions with the Court to add products to the trial as infringing Power-One's Z-One® patents. At issue are certain DC/DC converter products of Astec/Artesyn (Astec/Artesyn operate in concert as part of the Emerson Network Power business unit). The products were recently disclosed to Power-One as part of the discovery process. The Court's ruling on the Company's requests is pending.

The Court has rescheduled the jury trial date, originally planned for later this month, to a trial date in November, 2007. Power-One is requesting that the November trial provide a single trial of all issues, products and defendants. The Company is now anticipating lower patent litigation expenses for the third quarter and higher litigation expenses for the fourth quarter of 2007 than originally forecasted.

Power-One's Chief Executive Officer, Bill Yeates, commented, ?Obviously, we are pleased with the judge's ruling against Artesyn on summary judgment. While we would like to conclude the trial as quickly as possible, we look forward to resolving the questions of infringement on all products, and all other issues, in November.?
