Zurich Insurance Group AG (SWX:ZURN) is said to be in talks for a new takeover. The firm is said to be planning to expand its Asian business with the acquisition of a life insurer, and is bidding for the life insurance arm of PT Astra International. France-based BNP Paribas's (ENXTPA:BNP) BNP Paribas Cardif S.A. is also said to be considering an offer for the unit.
The talks are believed to be in a preliminary stage.
