Danamon Launches Online Shopping Payment Service

Adding More Convenience to Online Shopping Experience with Danamon Online Banking

Jakarta, 7 July 2015 - PT Bank Danamon Indonesia, Tbk. (Danamon) today launched an online shopping payment service, in line with the online shopping's rise in popularity and its status as part of the modern lifestyle. According to data from TechinAsia, Indonesian online shoppers spent around USD 2.60 billion (approx. IDR 34.3 trillion) in 2014. This figure is estimated to double to around USD 4.89 billion (approx. IDR 64.5 trillion)* in 2016.

"Online shopping is a promising business in Indonesia due to the rising number of internet users and the potential transactions they create. Danamon presents online shopping payment through Danamon online banking to meet the needs of online shoppers and Danamon customers to perform secure transactions conveniently. As of 31 May 2015, there are 275,571 customers who have registered in Danamon Online Banking," said Michellina Triwardhany, Consumer Banking Director, Danamon.

The online banking payment service can be accessed through Danamon Online Banking, which is Danamon's internet banking service, in partnership with online merchants that sells a variety of goods and services.

Currently, there are 21 online merchants that have partnered with Danamon for online shopping payment. The merchants are Bhinneka, Citilink, Electronic City, Jakarta Notebook, Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), Dinomarket, Foodpanda, Perkakasku, Klik Hotel, eVoucher, Metrox, IT KLIK, Idgameland, Hartono Elektronika, InstanTicket, Padiciti, Dewaweb, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT), Blibur, Gogo Mal, and Sriwijaya Air. Danamon will continue to add more merchants throughout 2015 and beyond.

"The online shopping payment service through Danamon Online Banking, in addition of providing convenience to customers in online shopping, also supports the movement towards a cashless society. In the last year, Danamon continues to improve its electronic channels to support the movement towards a cashless society, including the launch of the D-Mobile smartphone application and the Danamon Online Banking redesign, which allows for better user experience in performing transactions," said Vincent S. Danamon customers who want to access this online payment service needs to be registered with Danamon Online Banking. The registration can be done through Danamon Online Banking, Danamon ATMs, or EDC Pinpad (Electronic Data Capture) devices available at Danamon branches.

Danamon online shopping payment service offers the following advantage:
Practical. Customers do not need to register again. With just 1 (one) user ID and password (Internet Banking/Mobile Banking), customers can perform the online shopping payment.
Secure. Danamon Online Banking features international standard security level, with EV SSL Certificate, HTTPS Host Security, and customers are required to use tokens for transactions.
