Bank Mandiri and Secure Parking Team Up for Payment of Parking Charges with e-money

Jakarta, 28 January 2015 - Bank Mandiri and Secure Parking Indonesia have teamed up to permit the payment of parking charges using mandiri e-money. The collaborative venture was officially inaugurated at Kelapa Gading Mall in Jakarta on Wednesday (Jan 28) during an event that was attended by Bank Mandiri Senior EVP Transaction Banking, Rico Usthavia Frans, Secure Parking CEO, Rustam Rachmat, and Summarecon Deputy Executive Director, Tommy.

During the early stages of the cooperation, mandiri e-money will be accepted at the Kelapa Gading Mall and La Piazza Kelapa Gading parking areas. Subsequently, the arrangement will be rolled out at more than 20 other parking areas managed by Secure Parking.

According to Rico Usthavia Frans, the new arrangement is part of the effort to expand and improve mandiri e-money services so as to facilitate the public in paying parking charges.

"We hope that this will help to make the payment of parking charges easier, thus providing added convenience to the public," said Rico.

To provide added value to mandiri e-money users, in tandem with the the use of mandiri e-money for the payment of parking charges at parking areas managed by Secure Parking, initially at Kelapa Gading Mall and La Piazza, a free parking promotion will be held every Saturday and Sunday for 1 month from from 1 to 28 February 2015 (effective for the first hour, minimum parking time of 2 hours). This program is expected to encourage the use of mandiri e-money to pay parking charges, thus increasing the number of mandiri e-money transactions.

At present, mandiri e-money, including e-money cards and bracelets, e-Toll Cards, Indomaret Cards, Gaz Cards and others bearing the "e-money" logo, can be used to conduct transactions at 918 merchants, with a combined total of more than 38 thousand outlets. Mandiri e-money can be used to pay expressway tolls, bus fares (Busway, Trans Jogja and Batik Solo Trans), train fares (Railink Medan and Jakarta Commuter Line), parking (Quality Parking, Secure Parking and Reska Station Parking), and is accepted in retail outlets, gas stations, fast food restaurants and recreation centers.

To increase the use of e-money cards, Bank Mandiri continues to develop its electronic payment services. Overall, as of the end of December 2014, more than 5 million Bank Mandiri prepaid cards, issued under the "mandiri e-money" brand, were in circulation. This figure was up 43% compared to the number of cards in circulation at the end of the previous year.

Meanwhile, the number of mandiri e-money transactions amounted to 143 million between January and December 2014, up 27% compared to 2013. Meanwhile, transaction value during 2014 stood at Rp 1.6 trillion.

Mandiri e-money users can reload their cards at Mandiri ATMs using their Mandiri debit cards or debit cards issued by 74 other banks in the ATM Bersama network. In addition, top-ups can be purchased at Indomaret, Ceriamart, Alfamart, Alfamidi, Lawson, Hypermart, 7-Eleven, Superindo and Circle-K outlets, and at Bank Mandiri branches.
