Rosseti FGC UES begins reconstructing power transmission line for Bureya Dam power output

03/11/2021

Work is underway on the Bureya Dam - Amurskaya 500 kV transmission line. The reconstruction will improve the reliability of electricity transit of the Bureya Dam to consumers in the Amur Region, including gold and ore mining enterprises and traction substations of the Trans-Siberian Railway.

To date, the reinstallation of a complex angle-tension tower on new foundations in an inaccessible area has been completed. It consists of three columns, which, as a result of reconstruction, were installed on special multi-pile foundations used in difficult climatic and soil conditions. A total of 48 piles were driven to a depth of 12 meters each.

The route of the power line runs through a swampy area, so the work was carried out in subzero temperatures, when the ground was frozen. This made it possible to deliver special equipment to the site: a bulldozer, a crane, an excavator, a drilling machine, and a piling hammer.

Before the beginning of the fall and winter period of 2021/2022, the line will also get its ground wire and conductors repaired, the route will be cleared of dry vegetation, and bird protection devices will be installed.

The Bureya Dam - Amurskaya 500 kV transmission line is 278 km long. It supplies power from the Bureya Dam to the central energy area of the Amur Region and also participates in power transmission to the PRC.
