Rosseti FGC UES converts Power of Siberia power supply facility to remote control

10/05/2021

Rosseti FGC UES jointly with the System Operator (JSC SO UES) have introduced remote control for equipment of the Zeya 220 kV switch point that feeds one of the compressor stations of the Power of Siberia export gas pipeline. Introduction of the new technology allows reducing the time of operational switching in power units and reducing the risks of human errors considerably.

Similar projects are implemented at new generation power facilities provided with digital communication and modern automation systems. Equipment of the Zeya 220 kV switch point will be monitored from the Grid Management Center of the Amur MES enterprise (branch of Rosseti FGC UES) and the control center of the Amur RCD System Operator (who provides operational management and control over the power facilities in the Amur region).

Creation of highly reliable, low-maintenance, remote controlled substations is among the digitalization priorities for the Unified National Power Grid (UNPG).

The switch point is located in the Svobodnensky district of the Amur region. One of the eight compressor stations of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, CS 7a Zeyskaya, is connected to it.

Creating an external power supply scheme for Power of Siberia is one of the Rosseti Group's priorities in the Far East. Timely provision of pipeline facilities with power made it possible to start exporting gas to China in 2019. Seven Power of Siberia compressor stations in Yakutia and in the Amur region are now connected to the Unified National Power Grid (UNPG). In addition, Rosseti Group completed 100% of the measures to connect the Amur Gas Processing Plant's power station, which is included in the process chain of gas supplies via the pipeline, to the UNPG.
