The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was the best World Cup in history, as acknowledged by FIFA, along with all the participating football teams and spectators who came to Qatar to celebrate football.

The organization of this World Cup was a major success which showcased the achievements of the State of Qatar under the leadership of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

A FIFA World Cup™ of Firsts

Qatar 2022™ has achieved many unprecedented numbers. Argentina's Lionel Messi lifting the famous trophy for the first time, capped an amazing culmination of firsts for the region, bringing energy and excitement to the tournament of a lifetime.:

• The World Cup took a place in the Arab world
• Fans could attend more multiple matches per day
• used the first fully dismantled stadium in World Cup history, Stadium 974

• stadiums were fitted with air conditioning to keep players and fans cool

• An all-female officiated in the tournament

Al Bayt Stadium's role as host, Opening Match was assured from its first design sketch. Qatar turned to the rich fabric of its culture to welcometheworld-invitinggueststoenjoythetraditionalcomfort custom has demanded in this region for centuries.

Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium

Design inspiration: Qatar's story - the importance of family, beauty of the desert, and native flora and fauna

Capacity: 45,032

Location: Umm Al Afaei, 20km west of central Doha

Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium stands proudly in Umm Al Afaei- one of Qatar's most historic cities and home to the famousAl Rayyan SC.It is located right on the edge of the desert, the scene of many Qatari tales that live close to the hearts of the locals - a welcoming people who love their football as much as their fascinating past.

Al Janoub Stadium

Design inspiration:The sails of traditional dhow boats

Capacity: 44,325

Location:Al Wakrah, 22km east of central Doha

Al Janoub Stadium lies in the southern city of Al Wakrah, one of Qatar'soldestcontinuouslyinhabitedareas.Acityrichinhistorybut withitssightssetonanewhorizon-thefutureoffootball,theworld wasinvitedintosomeofthemostuniquestadiumseverbuiltforthe beautiful game - Al Janoub Stadium sits firmly in that category.

Khalifa International Stadium

Design inspiration: An ultra-modern stadium that honours Qatar's sporting history

Capacity: 45,857

Location: Aspire, 5km west of central Doha

Khalifa International Stadium has hosted a long list of momentous sportingeventssinceitsinaugurationin1976.Infact,rarelyisfootball or athletics mentioned in Qatar without referring to this venue. Naturally, as a reward for its long-standing service. On reopening in May 2017, it played host to the Amir Cup Final - the club football event close to the hearts of all Qataris.
