Quanta Services, Inc. announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company announced sales was USD 2,999.816 million compared to USD 2,506.231 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 161.651 million compared to USD 112.916 million a year ago. Net income was USD 117.033 million compared to USD 73.946 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.83 compared to USD 0.53 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.81 compared to USD 0.52 a year ago. For the half year, sales was USD 5,703.397 million compared to USD 5,270.326 million a year ago. Operating income was USD 275.380 million compared to USD 193.653 million a year ago. Net income was USD 206.794 million compared to USD 112.632 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.48 compared to USD 0.79 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.43 compared to USD 0.78 a year ago.
Quanta Services, Inc. is one of the leading providers of specialized services for infrastructures in the United States. Net sales break down by area of activity as follows:
- electric power (58.7%): design, installation, repair and maintenance of onshore infrastructures, consulting and technical support services, etc.;
- oil and gas (27.2%): construction, installation and maintenance of onshore infrastructures (pipelines, production facilities, etc.) and offshore infrastructures (submarine pipelines, oil platforms, etc.) and logistics services;
- renewable energies (14.1%): engineering, construction, maintenance and repair of wind, solar and hydroelectric power generation facilities.
Net sales break down geographically as follows: the United States (85.3%), Canada (12%), Australia (1.7%) and other (1%).
