Repsol and FREENOW have signed a strategic agreement to accelerate the transition of the taxi sector towards electric mobility. In this way, Repsol becomes the approved energy supplier of FREENOW in Spain for its drivers with a recharging service in service stations or public roads with the guarantee that the origin of the electricity is 100% renewable.

Under this agreement, Repsol gives FREENOW drivers an exclusive offer with significant discounts at any of the public recharging points that the multi-energy company has distributed throughout Spain. In this sense, FREENOW drivers will be able to benefit from these solutions through Waylet, Repsol's leading loyalty and payment application, which has more than six million registered users.

The objective of this alliance is to reinforce FREENOW's commitment to urban mobility, helping the taxi sector in its transition to electric vehicles. This commitment is part of the company's comprehensive sustainability strategy, Move to Net-Zero, whose main objective is to achieve zero net carbon emissions by 2030.

Furthermore, this collaboration comes at a perfect time for FREENOW, as last year the percentage of electric taxis available in its fleet increased by 100%, especially in the cities of Barcelona and Madrid. Thanks to the efforts in the electrification of the taxis fleet - together with the integration of new zeroemission mobility services - the mobility super app has already achieved savings of 13,000 tons of CO2 emissions in Spain.

Repsol currently has more than 1,200 public charging points installed throughout the country, of which more than 550 are operational, most of them located at service stations, which positions the multi-energy company as a leader in fast charging at service stations. In this sense, Repsol has fast or ultra-fast charging points at its service stations with connectors compatible for any type of electric vehicle, always operational; with on-site service during most of the opening hours; 24-hour assistance and telephone service, and additional services available to users.

Carlos Bermúdez, Repsol's Electric Mobility Manager, said that "this alliance with FREENOW, Europe's leading mobility platform, reinforces our commitment to thetaxi sector in Spain and is another step by Repsol to offer our customers all the alternatives available for sustainable mobility. In addition, this agreement consolidates our position as a multi-energy company, a leader in mobility and committed to the goal of achieving zero net emissions by 2050, being the first company in the sector to adopt this ambitious goal."

Isabel García Frontera, CEO of FREENOW Spain, said that "what we do and what we want is to facilitate the mobility of our users by offering them the best possible experience and to offer the widest range of products in a single mobility super app, but always respecting the environment and making cities better places to live in. This alliance is going to help us achieve that goal, as the future of urban mobility will be driven by platforms like ours. But we cannot do it alone, we all have to work together towards a common good."
