Den Haag, 7-11-11
KPN announces that today its Supervisory Board has formally
appointed Mr Thorsten Dirks to the company's Board of
Management.
Shareholders were informed during an Extraordinary General
Meeting of Shareholders (EGM) in The Hague, which was held
Monday November 7th.
Jos Streppel, chairman of the Supervisory Board: "The
international mobile business is one of the cornerstones of
the strategy that KPN outlined earlier this year. His
appointment brings the obvious international focus within
the Board of Management. With Mr Dirks we appoint someone
who has been leading our mobile international operations
successfully and who brings valuable experience to the
Board."
Thorsten Dirks (48) joined E-Plus in 1996, where he held
various management positions culminating in his appointment
as its CEO in 2007. Mr Dirks was most recently given
responsibility for all of KPN's international mobile
activities, following Eelco Blok's succession to the post
of CEO and Chairman of the Board of KPN. He will henceforth
maintain this responsibility for Mobile International at
Board level as well as remaining CEO of E-Plus.
