Nuclearelectrica reported earnings results for the nine months of 2016. For the period, the company posted a RON 64.5 million net profit, down 51% year-on-year. Revenues from the sale of electricity decreased by 5% to RON 1.15 billion, mainly as a result of a 4% decrease in the volume of sold energy caused by a longer-than-usual planned outage of Unit 1 in 2016. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) fell 40% on the year to RON 64.1 million. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell by 8% year-on-year to RON 424.1 million.
