Sanyu Co., Ltd. (TSE:5697) agreed to acquire 52% stake in Osaka Migaki Co., Ltd. from Toshimi Ono on November 2, 2018. Toshimi Ono owns 64.9% stake in Osaka Migaki Co., Ltd. Post completion of the deal, Osaka Migaki Co., Ltd. will operate as a subsidiary of Sanyu Co., Ltd. For the year ending March 2018, Osaka Migaki Co., Ltd. reported sales of ¥3.1 billion, operating profit of ¥414 million and net profit of ¥276 million. As of March 2018, Osaka Migaki Co., Ltd. reported total assets of ¥3 billion and net assets of ¥1.4 billion. The transaction is expected to be completed by November 5, 2018.
SANYU CO., LTD. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of brass bar steel and cold headed steel wires. Company has two business segments. The Brass Bar Steel segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of brass bar steel, as well as the precision machining of these products. The Cold Headed Steel Wires segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of cold headed steel wires. This segment also leases land, buildings and equipment, among others.
