Schindler embraces disability inclusion and joins Valuable 500

Schindler joins Valuable 500, the global disability inclusion movement. The commitment is part of Schindler's ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive working environment for all.

As a global company with operations, services, and customers spread across the world, Inclusion and Diversity represents an important cornerstone of the Schindler way of doing business: it is fundamental to the company's ability to fulfil its Corporate Citizenship, and is equally important to innovate and deliver for our customers. Diverse teams, operating in an inclusive work environ-ment, have proven to make better decisions.

Eric Way, Global Head of Inclusion and Diversity at Schindler said: "Schindler's commitment to the Valuable 500 mirrors our ambition to continually improve inclusion and diversity at Schindler. When people perceive themselves as operating in a diverse group, they actually think harder and come up with better solutions. This is particularly important for a company like Schindler, where innovation plays such a critical role."

Thomas Oetterli, CEO of Schindler said: "Solving mobility challenges that many people with dis-abilities face is an essential part of our business. As an employer, Schindler Group is committed to advancing our inclusive culture and enriching our diversity. We have been embracing diverse abilities and already today have targeted programs to include differently-abled people in our op-erations. Going forward, a Group Executive led task force will define strategies for hiring and on-boarding more people with disabilities."
