Science Applications International Corp. announced that Bob Ritchie will lead the company’s software practice, effective March 11, 2019. He replaces Kevin Ikeda, who retires this month, and will report to Josh Jackson, executive vice president and general manager of the Solutions and Technology Group. In this role, he will be responsible for strategy and investment in software solutions; development, integration, and sustainment of software applications; and migration of legacy code and apps to new environments. He brings a unique combination of commercial leadership and government services expertise to this role. Before joining SAIC, Ritchie was director of software engineering for Capital One, where he and his team led an engineering organization of more than 500 professionals across machine learning, cloud architecture, serverless architecture, site reliability, cyber, fulfillment IT, and case and process management. For Capital One, he helped lead the migration of 400 distributed apps from on-premises to Amazon Web Services. Ritchie began his career as a tech lead for SAIC and was a Research Fellow in 2016 specializing in micro-services architecture.
