Sedapal announced to invest over PEN 267 million to expand and improve the potable water and sanitation services in Lima's Ate and Santa Anita districts. The works consist of drilling five wells and rehabilitating an additional 15 in the area in addition to constructing 26 reservoirs that together will store 29,850 m3 of water. The company will also install 39 km of pipes and 3,873 domestic connections and water meters.

To address the lack of basic sanitation facilities the company will install 41.9 km of sewage collectors and 3,873 domestic connections. In terms of wastewater treatment, the two districts will benefit from the future La Atarjea wastewater treatment plant, with a tender for the feasibility studies expected to be launched the second week of January. The works in Ate and Santa Anita are part of the water program 148 for Lima and Callao, which foresees an investment of 9 billion soles, and aims to achieve 100% potable water and sanitation coverage in Lima and Callao.

The company previously announced plans to launch a tender in February 2014 for water and sanitation works in Santa Clara, in Ate district.
