Shiner International, Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2012. For the quarter, the company's total Revenues were $16.4 million, a decrease of $1.5 million (or 8.2%) compared to total revenue of $17.9 million for the same quarter ended June 30, 2011. The decrease was primarily attributable to decreased revenues generated from coated film and color printing, which was partially offset by increase in revenues generated from BOPP tobacco, advanced film and water-based latex. Operating loss was $1.5 million compared to operating income of $1.3 million for the same quarter ended June 30, 2011. Loss from operations was $1.5 million compared with income from operations of $1.3 million a year ago. Loss before income tax was $1.5 million compared with income before income tax of $1.0 million a year ago. Net loss attributed to the company was $1.4 million or $0.05 per basic and diluted share compared with net income attributed to the company of $0.8 million or $0.03 per basic and diluted share a year ago.

For the six months, the company's net loss was $2.0 million compared with net income of $1.8 million a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was $5.6 million compared with $1.0 million a year ago. Payments for property and equipment were $1.7 million compared with $8.8 million a year ago.
