PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) — PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) — Simmons First National Corp. (SFNC) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $23.9 million.

The Pine Bluff, Arkansas-based bank said it had earnings of 19 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 40 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 35 cents per share.

The bank holding company posted revenue of $345.5 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $177.6 million, missing Street forecasts.

For the year, the company reported profit of $175.1 million, or $1.38 per share. Revenue was reported as $805.7 million.
