Singapore Airlines Ltd. said its net loss narrowed significantly for the fiscal year ended in March, as relaxed travel restrictions boosted passenger traffic.

The Southeast Asian airline carrier posted a net loss of 962 million Singapore dollars (US$694.9 million), sharply narrower than a loss of S$4.27 billion in the previous fiscal year.

Revenue nearly doubled to S$7.62 billion, the airline said Wednesday.

Going forward, the company pointed to increasingly relaxed border controls in Singapore, which should support "a strong recovery in demand in air travel."

However, it warned of concerning "inflationary pressures, in particular on fuel prices," as well as "near-term volatility" in cargo demand due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
