The directors of Sirius Minerals Plc announced the appointment of Sir David Higgins as a Non-Executive Director of the company and that Derek Stonley will be stepping down as Non-Executive Director. Both changes to the board will take place with immediate effect. Derek Stonley has decided to step down from the board of the company having served as a Non-Executive Director from 2004 since the company was established. Sir David Hartmann Higgins, 58, is currently the Chief Executive of Network Rail, the Authority responsible for the United Kingdom's rail network. Previously David was the Chief Executive of the Olympic Delivery Authority from March 2006 until January 2011 responsible for Venues, Infrastructure and Spectator Transport for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralymic Games.
