Tunisair generated 619 million dinars (MD) in revenue in 2021, up 24.7% on the previous year, "in spite of a COVID-19 induced slowdown," activity indicators released Friday by the Tunis Stock Exchange show.

The company's activity increased 10% with passenger numbers going from 997,000 in 2020 to over 1,097,000 in 2021. Q4 of 2021 saw a 165% rise in passenger traffic compared to 2020.

The passenger load factor remained unchanged at 67%. The average revenue per passenger (scheduled flights) improved, edging up from 405 dinars in 2020 to 451 dinars in 2021.

Air transport productivity increased, driven by a higher utilisation of the fleet: 9.02 hours/day/aircraft to December 31, 2021 against 4.99 hours during the same period in 2020.
