Solarpack Racks Up More Project Finance for Solar in Chile

Proparco has awarded Solarpack a $25 million senior loan to finance 26.5MW worth of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in northern Chile that have PPAs with miners. The funds will go to develop the 25.4MW Pozo Almonte PV complex (Pozo Almonte 2 and Pozo Almonte 3) and the 1.1MW PV plant Calama Solar 3, (in operation since April 2012), which received a $41.4 million loan from IDB earlier this week. The cost of development of the projects stands at $82.7 million.

Solarpack was advised by project finance and M&A advisory Astris Finance.
