SPIE acquires all service contracts for Alcatel's voice and data solutions from multiMEDia service GmbH

Düsseldorf, 10 February 2022 - On 1 January 2022, SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa, a subsidiary of the SPIE Group, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, acquired the service contracts for the voice and data system solutions developed by ALE Deutschland GmbH (Alcatel Lucent) from multiMEDia service GmbH. This means that SPIE is now responsible for ensuring smooth system operation for around 80 additional customers in southern Germany.

This agreement sees SPIE acquire a team of highly skilled system technicians from multiMEDia service GmbH. As a business partner of Alcatel Lucent, SPIE is thereby strengthening its position in this partnership with one of Germany's leading providers of state-of-the-art communication infrastructure. Last year, SPIE was nominated "Best Service Partner" by Alcatel Lucent.

"By taking this step, multiMEDia service GmbH is further refining its product portfolio and will in future specialise in projects aimed at the digitalisation of public institutions," says Roland Wettberg, Managing Director of multiMEDia service GmbH, explaining the significance of this transfer of assets. Both companies will continue to remain partners. "We have enjoyed a trusting partnership on many projects in the past and established excellent business relations as a result. This is why we were the primary contact of choice when multiMEDia made the decision to sell this part of the business. After a series of open discussions and a short negotiating phase, we were able to swiftly reach an agreement," says Hans-Günther Martin, Managing Director of SPIE TELBA Group GmbH, which is responsible for operational implementation in the Information & Communication Services (ICS) operational division of SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa.

"Acquiring these service contracts and a highly skilled team of technicians help us to continue growing in one of our central service spectra and enable us to not only provide our newly acquired customers with the full range of contractual services - maintenance, troubleshooting and modernisation - with the same level of reliability to which they are accustomed, but also enable them to benefit from SPIE's diverse range of multi-technical services that we can offer from a single source," says Michael Hartung, General Manager of the ICS operational division and Member of the Management Board of SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa.
