(Alliance News) - Stellantis NV sales in March fell in Europe, in line with the negative trend in the performance of the European market, where registrations fell 5.2 percent year-on-year.

As data from ACEA, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association, showed Thursday, the merged giant of PSA Groupe and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles posted an 8.7 percent drop compared to March 2023, with market share down to 16.5 percent in March from 17.6 percent in March 2023.

Among the group's brands, Peugeot sold 13 percent fewer cars in March than in the same month a year earlier while Opel/Vauxhall posted a 10 percent decrease. DS registrations, on the other hand, dropped 25 percent in March while Citroen's dropped 3.0 percent.

Fiat reported an 8.3% drop in sales in March while Jeep posted a 7.2% increase, Lancia/Chrysler sold 3.8% fewer cars in March while Alfa Romeo worsened sales by 11%.
