Sumitomo Corporation will recognize the impairment loss of approximately ¥77 billion relating to Ambatovy Nickel Project in Madagascar in the third quarter of fiscal year 2015 (October 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015).

The company also announced in its board meeting held on January 31, 2016, revised its consolidated earnings forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016 to undetermined against profit before tax of ¥295,000 million and profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥230,000 million or ¥184.34 per share as previously expected.
