Sweett : July 29, 2016 Priory Farm House wins 2016 Small-Scale Residential Award

Priory Farm House in Polegate has been awarded the 2016 Small-Scale Residential Award by Sussex Heritage Trust.

Now in their 18th year, the Sussex Heritage Trust Awards are designed to recognise and reward the highest quality conservation, restoration and good design of newly built projects while encouraging the use of traditional skills and crafts. The winners each receive a hand-crafted slate plaque which is to be attached to the winning building.

The brief for this project was to replace an existing dwelling that had been a family home, which had been poorly extended in the past. The replacement dwelling was larger than the original house so careful consideration was given to ensure that it enhanced both its immediate and wider setting.
