TClarke Scotland has enjoyed a record year and expects another strong year ahead with the residential market moving positively for our business and our engineering services teams winning and delivering major projects.

Scotland MD Chris Harris explains: We are on track as a business with continuing growth in Engineering Services. Our projects are becoming more significant in scale and profile within the industry. In the last period, we have successfully completed two very large projects. The Neilston Learning and Leisure Campus which, at the time, was our largest project ever followed by the iconic Buchanan Wharf project on the River Clyde in Glasgow for the Student Loans Company. Both projects were high-profile and major successes, and now we have moved on to the Eurostampa Printing Facility. The scale of the facility is similar to that of a data centre, covering 82,000 square feet. Eurostampa is now our largest ever Engineering Services project.

We are extremely satisfied with the effectiveness of our selective tendering approach. Essentially, we carefully select clients and projects, which results in a very low risk profile. We don't scattergun our tendering to contractors we don't know. Instead, we pick projects that suit our skills and partners with whom we can work well in a comfortable partnership.

Meanwhile, on the residential side we have built a work bank for many years to come during the year with many significant new projects following what has been a new homes downturn across the UK. On some of these projects we are looking at eight or nine phases ahead - and that's the potential of many years of work for our teams.

Once again, simply by doing good high-quality work consistently and having the systems in place to deliver that, TClarke is winning in the market. We can do that because we have good people, we recruit good people and we train them and retain them. It is a good model and it works. The net result is strong performance.
