Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) through its green energy solutions subsidiary, GSPARX Sdn Bhd (GPARX) will collaborate with Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) to reduce its carbon emissions through the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels at the Dermaga Tanjung Lembung Complex in Langkawi.

Through a strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (KeTSA), LADA has declared its aspiration to reduce carbon emissions through the submission of the Letter of Intent in a ceremony at the Dermaga Tanjung Lembung Complex on 17 October 2021. Langkawi Port Sdn Bhd (LPSB), a LADA subsidiary, is the operator of Dermaga Tanjung Lembung Complex.

The letter was submitted by LADA Chief Executive Officer and LPSB Chairman, Nasaruddin Abdul Muttalib to GSPARX Managing Director, Elmie Fairul Mashuri. The ceremony was witnessed by Energy and Natural Resources Minister, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.

TNB Chief Retail Officer, Datuk Ir. Megat Jalaluddin Megat Hassan said TNB is ready to contribute its expertise in the solar energy system through GSPARX to help LADA achieve its objective of reducing carbon emissions and generating clean energy.
