Luc De Bruyckere announced in February 2012 that, together
with the expiration of his mandate as Chairman of VOKA, he
would prepare his succession as chairman of the Ter Beke
group.
The Board of Directors installed an ad hoc committee to look
for a suitable successor. This successor was found in
Louis-H. Verbeke, who was appointed by the 10 May 2012
Board as Chairman, as of September 1st, 2012.
This appointment was announced at
today's Shareholders' meeting of Ter Beke.
Louis-H. Verbeke is Doctor Iuris and holds a degree in
Business Administration (Ghent University) and is a Master of
Law (University of Virginia). He was Partner of the law firm
Allen & Overy and its senior Partner in Belgium until 2006.
He is chairman of the General Council and the Board of
Directors, a professor and a partner of the Vlerick Leuven
Gent Management School and director of several listed and
unlisted corporations. He writes and teaches about amongst
other subjects governance, law and ethics, corporate decision
making in the EU and the context of strategy.
Louis-H. Verbeke is no unknown to Ter Beke. Since the
seventies, he acted as general counsel to the company. He is
a member of the Board of Directors since 1987 and acts as
chairman of STAK Coovan, reference shareholder of the group,
since 2006.
