Providing twin-screw extruder 'TEX' technology for chemical recycling of acrylic resins
  • 2021/08/31

The Japan Steel Works, Ltd.(JSW) the world's leading supplier of compounding twin screw extruders, today announced Sumitomo Chemical (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will use JSW continuous plastics decomposition technology for chemical recycling.
This technology features continuous recovery of MMA (methyl methacrylate) monomer from used acrylic resin by using JSW twin-screw extruder, 'TEX series'.
'TEX series' used in this technology is expected to expand its application field not only in chemical recycling but also in conventional material recycling and thermal recovering.

JSW plans to launch Chemical Recycling Center in Hiroshima Plant in 2022 to provide enhanced technical support that meets various kinds of customer's needs for plastics recycling.
JSW and its affiliates will continue to develop technologies that reduce the environmental burden and aim to be a company that contributes to the realization and development of sustainable society.
