In the pursuit of taking economic growth and sustainable development as the driving force for longevity, The PAN Group was just honored in the Top 100 Sustainable Businesses in 2021. In addition, another member company of the Group, which is Sao Ta Foods Joint Stock Company (Fimex VN), was also announced in the ranking.

On December 9, 2021, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) together with the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD) held the the Vietnam Corporate Sustainability Forum 2021 (VCSF 2021) with the theme "Toward a better decade of sustainable development: Leaving no one behind" and the Announcing Ceremony for Sustainable Companies in Vietnam (CSI 2021).

The Program on Benchmarking and Announcing Sustainable Companies is an annual activity organized by VCCI in association with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor since 2016. This year, the best 100 enterprises are leaders in sustainable development and thoroughly selected from more than 500 companies that passed the preliminary round. Besides The PAN Group, among the Top 100 are prestigious businesses such as Nestlé, Unilever, Heineken, Coca-Cola, C.P. Vietnam…

The results of a quick survey by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) at businesses during the recent Covid-19 pandemic show that those persistently pursuing the sustainable development strategy recover faster, creating their own "antibodies" to the pandemic. Sustainable development is no longer a distant and big story for only big businesses but also for the whole business community.

To receive high appreciation and be honored in the ranking of leading sustainable enterprises in Vietnam in 2021, The PAN Group must fully meet the CSI index in four areas assessed by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). Specifically, the latest index of the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) of VCCI (CSI 2021) has 119 indicators, including 12 indicators of Sustainability Performance Index, 22 indicators of Governance Index, 25 indicators of Environmental Index, and 60 indicators of Labor-Social Index.

At the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Chairman for Sustainable Development and Competitiveness Improvement, shared that, during the Covid-19 pandemic, many sustainable businesses showed the adaptive capacity to diseases, non-traditional security factors, and climate change. Nowadays, sustainable development has become an inevitable and irreversible trend. The Government of Vietnam has integrated sustainable development indicators into all socio-economic development strategies.

In the current period, sustainable development has become the key for Vietnam to achieve the dual goals of both effectively preventing pandemic and developing the economy. Following the inevitable trend, The PAN Group has for many years considered it as a consistent direction in the development strategy and actualized it through practical actions for sustainable development of the Vietnamese agricultural and food sectors.
