Fire at Wakayama Refinery (fourth press release: fire extinguished)

The fire that occurred on January 22 in the lubricant oil processing facilities of the TonenGeneral Sekiyu K.K. Wakayama refinery (1000 Hama, Hatsushima-cho, Arida City, Wakayama; refinery manager: Eiji Kato) has been extinguished, as confirmed in the presence of the Arida City Fire Department on January 24 at 8:27 a.m.

A thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the incident, and appropriate measures will be implemented to prevent reoccurrence.

We once again extend our deepest apologies to members of the local community and all others concerned, and especially to those who evacuated their homes, for the inconvenience and concern caused by this incident.
