Westinghouse Electric Company President and Chief Executive Officer Danny Roderick met with President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, in addition to several cabinet members, as part of an official delegation led by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker on October 26. Danny Roderick and Ukrainian officials support a comprehensive program to implement efficiency and safety improvements to the country’s nuclear fleet, which provide significant energy supply and security for Ukraine.

Danny Roderick stated, “Ukraine relies on nuclear energy for more than 50 percent of its power requirements today. Success in this program will increase Ukraine’s domestic energy output while enhancing security and safety, providing for Ukrainians’ electricity needs and the country’s energy integration into the European energy markets’ trading capabilities.”
