Towellers Limited reported unaudited earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended December 31, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of PKR 769,922,001 against PKR 799,916,838 for the same period in the last year. Profit from operations was PKR 118,023,710 compared to PKR 72,441,840 a year ago. Profit before taxation was PKR 117,216,658 against PKR 70,835,676 for the same period in the last year. Profit for the period was PKR 110,450,313 against PKR 62,370,732 for the same period in the last year. Earnings per basic and diluted share were PKR 6.50 against PKR 3.67 for the same period in the last year.
For the six months, the company reported net sales of PKR 1,390,549,340 against PKR 1,484,956,168 for the same period in the last year. Profit from operations was PKR 248,790,831 compared to PKR 120,536,993 a year ago. Profit before taxation was PKR 246,594,016 against PKR 116,338,819 for the same period in the last year. Profit for the period was PKR 234,087,438 against PKR 101,493,552 for the same period in the last year. Earnings per basic and diluted share were PKR 13.77 against PKR 5.97 for the same period in the last year.
Towellers Limited is a Pakistan-based company that is engaged in the manufacturing and exporting of textile made ups, garments and towels. The Company's products include towels, apparel, bedding and baby products. Its capabilities include dobby and cam border towels, hemmed towels, custom-weaved jacquard towels, and embroidered, printed, yarn-dyed, and plain towels. The Company offers institutional and retail towels. It is a terry exporter in Pakistan. The Company is engaged in manufacturing knitwear apparel. Its apparel division can manufacture a diverse range of products from basic lines to washed and embellished value-added collections with a socially compliant unit, certified by various retailers. Its knitting capabilities in circular knits include interlock, jersey, pique, French terry, two-end, and three-end fleece, and yarn-dyed feeder stripes. The Company's baby product range includes sleep crib-fitted sheets, throws, and swaddle sets along with baby blankets and hooded towels.
