SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) _ TPI Composites Inc. (TPIC) on Thursday reported a loss of $39.8 million in its second quarter.

The Scottsdale, Arizona-based company said it had a loss of $1.08 per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs and restructuring costs, were 80 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 76 cents per share.

The maker of composite wind blades posted revenue of $458.8 million in the period, matching Street forecasts.

TPI Composites expects full-year revenue in the range of $1.75 billion to $1.8 billion.

TPI Composites shares have declined 24% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $40.21, a climb of 38% in the last 12 months.
